WOLF “Shallow Breath”   (rating”8” of  “9”)

Keith Carlock’s name has been buzzing about the MD offices lately. And on NYC singer-songwriter Marcus Wolf’’s Shallow Breath, you can clearly hear why. The first notes of album opener “Uncover  Me”  clue to the tasty, solid drumming that appears throughout. Kudos to Keith and engineer co-producer Robert Murphy on the excellent drum sound. Keith elicits brilliant ideas and playing on the Zeppelin-ish “Timeless,” playing with the rhythm, weaving in and out of time. Back to the pocket, he shuffles along to some very nice guitar work from Wolf on “Blue.” Nicely done by all involved.
